AGES Turbidity Curtains deployed at a mine-site reclamation project.

AGES was contracted to supply and install two turbidity curtains across the bay of a lake where a mine reclamation project was to be undertaken. The curtains measured over 50 feet in depth and spanned over 500 feet each. Primary and secondary curtains were utilized to keep the disturbed waters separate from the main body of the lake.

For a full explanation of this project, please see the April 2002 issue of GFR (Geotechnical Fabrics Report), or view the PDF version below.

SuperGro1 SuperGro fibrous reinforcement matrix consists of a hair-like web of green polypropylene fibre that mixes with and conforms to the soil surface creating a root-like matrix. By doing this, SuperGro locks seed into the soil and holds the system in place for maximum germination. This lock-in mechanism prevents dislodging of soil particles while dissipating rain impact and slope runoff energy.
